Los Angeles, CA – Following last year’s successful event, The Asia Society Southern California’s Entertainment & Media/Asia Initiative (EMAsia) will host the 2011 U.S.-China Film Summit on November 1 at the Landmark Theatres in Westwood, Los Angeles. Last year’s inaugural summit drew more than 550 entertainment industry professionals from Hollywood and China, including a special delegation of high-level Chinese filmmakers, executives and policymakers.
His Holiness the Venerable Abbot Shi Yongxin will be sharing the mysteries of kung fu and healing with the public for the first time ever. This will be called the 1st Shaolin Summit, which will be held in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 21. Peter Shiao, who is the founder and CEO of Orb Media Group, is presenting the 1st Shaolin Summit.

It’s been a while since we last met. Just completing a whirlwind tour that brought me from the Middle East (Abu Dhabi), to New York’s Media Advisory Board Meeting of Excel Media, to Boston for the Harvard China Forum, to Australia for Xmedia Lab, and finally to Beijing just before the Beijing International Film Festival.
If I can think of one major impression from this big global walkabout – it is that people all over the world are starting to speak and think the same way. Cross border activities as well as cross industry activities are leading the charge in transformational thought…
